Reflection #2 Intro to the Internet, Media and Technology

Definitions:

digital native is a person born or brought up during the age of digital technology and so familiar with computers and the Internet from an early age.

digital immigrant is a person born or brought up before the widespread use of digital technology.

Difference between synchronous and asynchronous:

Netiquette is the correct or acceptable way of using the Internet. (Dictionary.com, 2017)


  • Example of Netiquette is the use of signature in emails. Steps to finding the signature feature in Gmail:

  1. Settings.
  2. Scroll down and select "Signature".
  3. Type your signature in the signature box. (i.e.: Name, Affiliations, Telephone #, etc.)

We got some homework:
  • Bookmark anything.
  • Check out www.creativecommons.com
  • Download an Anti-Virus program

This is what we'll be using to chronicle our reflections throughout the term. We got to create our own blog and we were guided throughout the process:
  1. we learned how to set up our blog Title; mine is EduTech
  2. we then learned how to set up our own blog address; mine is ronklog.blogspot.com
My challenges with this class were that:
  •  the process was a bit fast due to time constraints
  • the internet connection was defective, therefore it interrupted and further delayed the process.
